Application Patch Deployment
In addition to O/S patches Microsoft typically releases patches for its productivity software such as Internet Explorer, Outlook and other Microsoft Office programs. UpdateEXPERT Premium Windows patch managements software analyzes and tests these patches so you can deploy them without worrying about patch conflicts or dependencies. Here are step-by-step instructions for applying a Microsoft application patch or update using UpdateEXPERT Premium.
Installing Office and Outlook Updates
In order to install Office and Outlook updates, Office applications and Outlook must have been run at least one time since the installation. Due to the nature of the Office and Outlook updates, you are required to provide your username, password, Domain, and the location of the original Product Installation Media to complete an update installation. UpdateEXPERT windows patch managements software prompts you for these locations. Initially you are prompted for your username, password, and Domain for installing the update. Next you are prompted for the location of the Product Installation Media (see below). Once you enter the locations for the Installation Media, they are saved and displayed as a default location for any subsequent installations. The installation media must be on a network share volume and the volume must be accessible by the user identified in the dialog above.
Note: You only need to fill in the locations (a valid UNC path) for the versions of Office that you have installed. For multiple Office installations (such as installing Small Business Edition and then installing Premium Edition), you need to enter multiple Office Installation Locations.
